Job description

The General Clerk I performs a variety of functions related to Mail Center Service Contract at Altus PO including the assigning of mail boxes, distribution of mail and packages, sorting mail and ensuring security of all mail. PT, $14.90hr, Mon, Thu, Fri 10a-2p.

  1. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed, maintaining a clean and safe work area. 

  1. Distribute all mail, UPS, Fedex and other carriers into corresponding receptacles. 

  1. Sort and group all mails by proper class. 

  1. Records accountable mail on receipts before delivery 

  1. Maintains postal records, prepares forms and reports. 

  1. Data Entry, logging packages into excel sheet  

  1. Provides assistance to customers concerning mail matters and briefings incoming and outgoing personnel on postal procedures. 

  1. Provides professional friendly customer service. 

  1. Conduct monthly inspections of all assigned receptacles, ensuring compliance with P.W.S. 

  1. Assist in other areas when needed. 

  1. Performance of other related functions as directed by supervisor.
