Job description

Mail Room Clerk

Location: Detroit, MI

Job Type: Office/On-site

Reports to: Facility Manager

Department: North American Operations

Position Purpose: Office Administration and Mailroom Attendant. Ensuring the efficient and secure handling of mail, packages, and office support services with the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec.
  • Works safely at all times.
  • Ensure quality standards are met based on service objectives.
  • Process and sort incoming mail and shipments and coordinate receipt of shipments with appropriate staff and client representatives.
  • Deliver mail, packages, packets, and copy jobs to assigned mail stops or specific recipient(s) according to delivery schedules and ensure that all accountable items are properly recorded and signed for.
  • Pack items for shipment and prepare air bills for domestic and international priority letters and packages using computer systems and/or other automated entry systems.
  • Regularly check copy rooms and restock copy paper.
  • Organize conference rooms regularly and restock on easel pads and pens.
  • Assist with collecting recycled shredded paper.
  • Assist with mass distributions, special handling, and other special requirements.
  • Ensure safety standards are met.
  • Provide supervisors with information related to any client issues or concerns.
  • Prioritize workload assignments.
  • Properly cross-train in a variety of roles to fill in for other employees when needed.
  • Provide assistance on office moves, including properly packing materials for safe transport.
  • Sort, distribute, and deliver incoming and outgoing mail within the premises accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Operate mail processing equipment.
  • Collect and process various types of mail, such as letters, packages, registered mail, and bulk mailings.
  • Prepare mail for delivery.
  • Manage inventory of office supplies.
  • Maintain inventory levels based on usage and need.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail, including tracking packages and maintaining logs.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of mailing supplies, such as envelopes, stamps, and packaging materials.
  • Address and resolve any mail-related issues, including mislabeled or undeliverable mail.
  • Adhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 respectively.
