Job Title: Lead Die Setter – Automatics
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (40+ hours/week)
Pay Rate: Starting at $23.00/hour
Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Lead Die Setter – Automatics to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating the setup of automatic punch press dies in a fast-paced metal stamping environment, ensuring all presses are running efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities for Lead Die Setter Role: 
  • Coordinate and prioritize work for automatic die setters and machine operators
  • Set up and adjust dies for production
  • Inspect parts and raw materials using measuring tools and blueprints
  • Monitor press operations, feeders, and die functions for performance and malfunctions
  • Train and guide machine operators and material handlers on safe and efficient operations
  • Move dies and materials with proper documentation
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and transfer of materials, scrap, and containers
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations, including PPE requirements
  • Report issues or concerns to supervisors promptly
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements for Lead Die Setter Role:
  • With previous experience in setting dies (including blow-offs and oilers)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Experience with punch press machines (35–300 ton), including brands such as Bliss and Sutherland
  • Knowledge of metal stamping processes (steel, aluminum, etc.)
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures
  • Experience with inspection processes and measuring tools
  • Ability to operate die handling and material handling equipment
  • Willingness to obtain a forklift license
Tools Required
  • Basic measuring and inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, protractor, etc.)
  • Hand tools (wrenches, ratchet/socket set, etc.)
  • Rolling tool cart and other standard equipment
