Job description

We have an immediate opening for a Tool Crib Attendant to join our team in Santa Clara, CA!


Position Overview:

  • Under general supervision, inventories, disburses and maintains all tooling and supplies required by production associates.
  • Pre-sets tools according to tool setup instructions.
  • Gages tools using a CNC tool setter.


Tool Crib Attendant Responsibilities:


  • Perform tool set-ups and tool measuring using manual and CNC tool setting equipment, a tool prester.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
  • Works well with other team members.
  • Ability to efficiently organize and manage tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Basic understanding of various tools and equipment used in the manufacturing plant.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to support their tool and equipment needs.
  • Proactively seeks solutions to improve tool crib operations and inventory management.
  • Set up tooling for CNC Machinists using job-tooling sheets.
  • Pull set-up sheets from server for jobs.
  • Distribute tooling to assigned machines.
  • Prioritizes tasks to ensure timely completion and minimal disruption to production.
  • Maintain adequate records for withdrawals of tools.
  • Manage the inventory of existing tooling to ensure minimum inventory levels.
  • Inspect all tools for sharpness before being returned to the proper location.
  • Order tools and tooling and ensure the best price, quality, and delivery.
  • Pays meticulous attention to detail when recording inventory, issuing tools, and performing inspections.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain tool setup rates according to established standards.
  • Maintain quality standards according to established procedures.
  • Notify supervisor of any problems with procedures or equipment.
  • Recommend changes for improved quality and productivity.
  • Maintain high awareness of safety procedures.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with associates.
  • Maintain work area in a safe, neat and orderly manner.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of inventory management techniques. Must be able to read blue prints. Must have general knowledge of tool geometry and CNC machining


Preferred Skills:


  • Experience in inventory control
  • Knowledge of tools and their intended use, tool accountability, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and Safety programs
