A tool setter is responsible for the setup and adjustment of CNC machine tools and production machines in a factory or shop. As a tool setter, your job duties include taking the measurement of reference points for setting the machine, making adjustments to the machine presenter, and performing periodic quality checks on the products made by the machines. The qualifications to begin a career as a tool setter include a high school diploma and the completion of an apprenticeship with an experienced tool setter, which provides crucial experience for this job. Tool setters typically have multitasking, organization, and customer service skills.

To thrive as a Tool Setter, you need mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of machining processes, typically supported by a high school diploma or technical certification.
