Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Equipment Shop Manager to lead day-to-day shop operations supporting a fleet of material handling and lifting equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage technicians, maintain workflow, and step in on repairs when needed.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background who is ready to take ownership of shop performance, team development, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage shop technicians, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion
- Perform repairs and maintenance as needed alongside the team
- Maintain and enforce safety standards and company policies
- Manage shop workflow, organization, and cleanliness
- Identify parts needs and coordinate ordering to support repairs
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and diagnostic equipment
- Support customer service efforts through quality and timely equipment readiness
