Job description

Position Objective:
To schedule and oversee efficient shop workflow of maintenance work on trucks and equipment according to the daily needs of the business by working alongside each of our technicians to assist and develop their skills.
Job Responsibilities:
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems (including electrical schematics); must be able to repair and troubleshoot
• Oversee preventative maintenance on industrial vacuum trucks and electrical utility equipment
• Complete annual inspections on trucks and trailers
• Proficient with computer systems and diagnostic equipment
• Program engine computers (Cummins, Detroit, Paccar, etc.)
• Perform new truck inspections and run-ups; will also handle the sale truck inspection run-ups
• Must be able to weld, cut, and fabricate all types of trucks and machinery
• Able to operate all types of testing devices, as well as all shop machinery
• Assist in teaching employees when required; will also train customers on all equipment
• Ensure all technician labor/time sheets are completed
• Coordinate and schedule the workflow to coincide with branch goals for accuracy and efficiency
• Provide timely updates to internal and external customers on work progress
• Hold meetings with technicians to go over projects and department goals
• Assist in maintaining all safety practices in the shop
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Manual dexterity skills
• CDL helpful but not required
• Supervisory/teaching ability
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more infrequently
• Experience on Class 7/8 trucks or experience repairing vacuum modules preferred
• Complete set of hand tools to complete all required work
• Will stand, stoop, crouch, bend, and climb short ladders repeatedly throughout the day
• Experience with machinery and equipment
