Summary of Position:

Perform complete and independent setup of various machine tools and perform any operation within the machine’s capacity, working from prints sketches, oral and written instructions to determine the sequence of operations to be performed, dimensions and tolerances to be held, tools to use, method of locating, aligning, and holding work, and feeds and speeds.

Skills Required:

  • Must be knowledgeable in machine shop operations
  • Capability to use various machine shop tools and equipment.
  • CNC Mills, Manual Mills and Lathe
  • Work independently as well as in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read various measuring devices and perform accurate inspections
  • Must be able to read blueprints and machine parts to tolerance
  • Good organization and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull 40 to 80lbs

 

Task Descriptions:  

  • Makes engineered parts for machinery from sketches and blueprints
  • Perform set-up and operate various machine tools to accomplish production machinery functions
  • Use milling, drilling, grinding, and other machine shop equipment
  • Decipher sketches, blueprints, and engineering details
  • Run electronic equipment and systems to perform work
  • Assemble in-house tooling
  • Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate
  • Conform with the environmental policy and procedures and with the requirements of the environmental management system
