The Recess/Lunch Supervisor plays a key role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students during lunch and/or recess periods, both indoors and outdoors. This position ensures student safety, promotes positive behavior, encourages healthy social interactions, and upholds district expectations for equity and cultural responsiveness.
The following qualifications are preferred for the ideal candidate:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Maintain basic first aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
  • Ability to visually supervise students and assess situations for safety concerns
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment regarding student safety and welfare
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal direction
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to move throughout the school building and playground, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to perform physical activities, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and/or lifting
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Preferred, not required - Bilingual endorsement/approval or fluency in a second language, in addition to English
