Overview

Beeson Hardware & Lumber Company seeks efficient and customer-centered lumberyard professionals to serve as our yard representatives. We seek persons willing to provide our customer base with courteous actions supported by excellent attitudes. The Lumber yard worker works as part of a team to ensure all deliveries are accurate, complete, loaded correctly, and delivered to our customer’s job sites safely and in a timely manner. The lumber yard worker will build delivery loads for job-site deliver as directed by Dispatcher while adhering to all OSHA regulations.

Lumber yard worker Responsibilities

  • Greet every customer with a great attitude. Ability to engage and build professional relationships, provide exceptional customer service and put customer first.
  • Load Customer’s building material purchases safely, accurately, and professionally.
  • Ask customer if they have proper means to secure their materials, inform them that flags are available if needed, and help them leave the yard satisfied.
  • Build delivery packs for our trucks, load packs on trucks, and assist driver with securing pack on truck.
  • Processes customer returns safely, accurately, and professionally.
  • Maintain yard, product, and work areas in neat clean and safe condition.
  • Obtain and maintain fundamental product knowledge and location throughout the yard.
  • Must have understanding of basic operational and safety standards, and ability comply with Company policy regarding such standards.
  • Ability to accurately capture and document inventory issues and adjust for substitutions and culls as needed.
  • Ability to meets company standards for attendance, punctuality, appearance, and teamwork.
  • Ability to engage and build professional relationships, provide exceptional customer service and put customer first.
  • Unload vendor trucks, restock product bins, and rotate stock as needed.
  • Operate a forklift in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Other duties as directed by management.
