What is a lumber assistant?

Lumber assistants are workers who help with the handling, processing, and transportation of lumber in sawmills, lumberyards, or construction sites. Their duties often include sorting, stacking, and loading wood, assisting with machinery, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. They play a crucial role in ensuring that lumber is prepared and delivered efficiently for further processing or sale. Lumber assistants may also help in measuring and cutting wood according to specifications.
