Job description

The main function of a packaging engineer is to design and release packaging material specifications. A typical packaging engineer is responsible for improving packaging design and material specifications through research and testing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform projects to reduce packaging material, processing, distribution, and damage costs.

• Resolve complex product and packaging issues.

• Develop and apply graphic design elements and product.

• Identification standards for packaging materials.

• Coordinate packaging requirements with plants, other departments, sources, and customers.

• Stay current on new technology and new developments.

• Apply high quality network/synchronous organization and lean strategies to achieve process improvement and promote teamwork.

Skills:

• Expert knowledge of Testing, Design, Packaging processes.

• Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tools.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work well with a team.

• Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
