Job description

Role: HCL Domino Administrator
Location: Dallas, Texas; Texas City, Texas
*Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future*
Role Summary
Administer and support a highly customized HCL Domino (Lotus Notes) enterprise application platform underpinning a large-scale case management business process. Own day-to-day infrastructure operations across production, disaster-recovery, development, web, mail, and reporting servers, and build the documentation and knowledge base.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer Domino server infrastructure across primary and disaster-recovery data centers, including clustering, replication, and backup/recovery processes.
• Manage Domino Directory, mail routing, replication, clustering, and server performance.
• Perform installation, upgrades, patching, and migration activities across Domino environments.
• Manage user administration: account provisioning/deprovisioning, password resets, and access/security / certificate management.
• Monitor server health, performance, and availability across development, production application, web, administrative, mail, and reporting servers.
• Maintain the Domino security framework, including access control lists (ACLs), authentication, and web access configuration.
• Coordinate with HCL vendor support for Domino platform and infrastructure-level issues; track and escalate defects within HCL's supported scope.
• Support disaster-recovery readiness: maintain replicated systems, clustered application servers, and backup web servers at the secondary site.
• Partner with the Domino development function and business stakeholders to assess the operational impact of upgrades (Domino, Windows, Office, DB2) on production workflows.
• Create and maintain administration runbooks, architecture diagrams, and dependency maps.
Required Skills & Experience
• Hands-on HCL Domino/Lotus Notes administration, including server clustering, replication, and ID/certificate management.
• Experience administering Domino in a multi-server, multi-site (production/DR) environment.
• Domino Replication & Clustering
• Working knowledge of Domino security models, ACLs, and web (iNotes/HTTP) access configuration.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures for Domino infrastructure.
• Exposure to integrated reporting environments (e.g., DB2-backed).
• Ability to operate with minimal existing documentation and proactively produce architecture/runbook documentation.
• Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills for a high-availability, business-critical application platform.
Preferred Qualifications
• HCL Domino administrator certification.
• Experience supporting (8+ years), heavily customized Domino environments.
• Prior experience in insurance, claims, warranty, or automotive-adjacent case management operations.
• Familiarity with transitioning legacy platforms with tribal knowledge
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 to $90,000 yearly depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
