Loom Fixer - Job Description
The Loom Fixer is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling looms to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation. This role also involves setting up new jobs, troubleshooting weaving issues, and ensuring optimal loom performance across shifts. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, attentive to detail, and able to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Repair, adjust, and overhaul looms to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Set up and start new jobs using established checklists to ensure accurate configuration.
- Diagnose and correct weaving defects such as skips, bad edges, and web slippage.
- Replace and adjust mechanical and electrical loom components, including springs, wires, and needle blocks.
- Perform routine oiling and greasing to maintain equipment longevity and reliability.
- Safely operate hand tools (drills, taps, chisels) with precision and care.
- Assist in starting up new beams and binders, ensuring proper setup and alignment.
- Monitor loom performance, conduct electrical checks, and make speed adjustments as needed to improve efficiency.
Loom Fixer/Mechanic Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience repairing looms
- Industrial maintenance experience required
- Completion of industrial technology or related program is a plus
- Experience correcting defects requited
