Logistics Operations - Onsite
About the Role
The Trade Specialist will support Free Trade Optimization (FTO) and Customs & Trade Compliance activities across the APLA region. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate product data, tariff classification, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) execution to drive duty savings while maintaining compliance with international trade regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, customs compliance knowledge, and experience working with Free Trade Agreements, Rules of Origin, and HTS classification processes.
This position plays a critical role in translating product and sourcing data into compliant customs declarations while supporting audits, trade programs, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Free Trade Optimization (FTO) & Compliance
  • Support execution of Free Trade Optimization initiatives across APLA
  • Identify duty-saving opportunities through effective use of FTAs and Special Trade Programs
  • Analyze product, sourcing, and material data to determine FTA eligibility
  • Apply Rules of Origin requirements to ensure compliant preferential duty treatment
Product Classification & Data Management
  • Assign and validate HTS classifications for products
  • Maintain accurate product attributes (ART) and trade-related data within Trade Net (NTN)
  • Ensure customs declarations and trade documentation are accurate and compliant
Audit & Operational Support
  • Support customs compliance audits and documentation reviews
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies or gaps
  • Partner with customs brokers and factory partners to ensure smooth trade operations
  • Assist with continuous process improvement initiatives related to trade compliance
Free Trade Agreements (FTA) Knowledge Required
Candidates should have familiarity with key APLA-region FTAs, including:
  • RCEP
  • CPTPP
  • AJCEP
  • AKFTA
  • CN-KR FTA
  • AIFTA
  • ACFTA
  • AANZFTA

Strong understanding of:
  • Rules of Origin

  • 2-5 years of experience in:

  • Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements and Rules of Origin
  • Experience with product classification or customs documentation
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working across multiple countries or cultures
