Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is seeking a Logistics Manager. This role is responsible for enterprise-wide transportation performance across domestic and international freight. This remote role with required travel owns logistics KPIs, carrier strategy, freight budget performance, and continuous improvement initiatives, while partnering closely with Finance, Supply Planning, Production, and Warehouse leadership.

Reporting to the Director of Inventory & Logistics Planning, this role is part of the corporate Inventory & Logistics Planning team and, while remote, works closely with colleagues across different locations. Additionally, the Logistics Manager collaborates frequently with on-site Warehouse Managers (who handle day-to-day warehouse execution) and with other planning and operations managers to accomplish shared objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Own domestic and international transportation strategy, execution oversight, and carrier performance across the network.
  • Lead carrier sourcing, RFPs, contract negotiations, and ongoing relationship management across all transportation modes.
  • Own logistics KPIs and scorecards, including freight cost, OTIF, carrier performance, claims, and accessorial charges.
  • Manage the freight budget, lead standard costing exercises, explain variances, and identify savings opportunities.
  • Drive transportation optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across lanes, modes, routing, and network design.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Planning, Finance, Production, Procurement, Customer Service, and Warehouse leadership departments.
  • Oversee risk management, contingency planning, freight claims, customs clearance and transportation compliance, including CTPAT and import/export requirements.
  • Support strategic supply chain projects, including TMS implementation and broader logistics network improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field required.
  • 5–8+ years of logistics and transportation experience across multiple material types and finished cased goods, including domestic freight management; international exposure and ocean freight management experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of people leadership or demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and developing talent.
  • Strong experience with carrier negotiations and management, freight procurement, budgeting, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with TMS/ERP systems, Excel, and logistics analytics; BI/reporting tools are a plus.
  • Knowledge of freight market dynamics, transportation compliance, import/export processes, and 3PL management preferred.
  • APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage vendors.
