 Ferrellgas is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Eugene. As a Logistics Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of our fleet. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the routing and scheduling function as well as monitoring operational processes and productivity of daily delivery of propane. By fostering a collaborative environment and driving continuous improvement initiatives, you will help us achieve operational excellence and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Delivery & Service Planning: Utilize independent judgment to create and monitor delivery, service, and non-production plans, ensuring the efficient use of service center resources to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Routing & Dispatch: Leverage routing technology to effectively plan and dispatch resources to meet forecasted delivery demand while addressing customer needs.
  • Forecasting & Data Adjustment: Identify deficiencies in forecasting data and collaborate with drivers, managers, and peers to make data-driven adjustments and ensure accurate planning.
  • Cost Efficiency & Asset Utilization: Partner with the General Manager on initiatives to reduce operational expenses and optimize the use of assets within the service center.
  • Replenishment & Delivery Optimization: Use critical thinking to improve replenishment targets, minimizing occurrences of early or late deliveries.
  • Service Quality Monitoring: Regularly monitor and evaluate service quality, adhering to productivity standards and ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Safety Management: Prioritize safety by taking immediate action on any safety-related deficiencies or incidents, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • On-Call Management: Serve as the on-call manager within the service center rotation, as requested.
  • Collaboration & Industry Knowledge: Attend Logistics collaboration meetings to stay informed on technology trends, industry best practices, and process improvements.
  • Tank Monitor Management: Oversee tank monitor population, including portal maintenance, reports, alerts, and data integrity.
  • Mentorship & Development: Actively participate in a mentorship program with Logistics Supervisors to refine analytical and efficiency skills.
  • Compliance & Vehicle Management: Collaborate with district managers to ensure vehicle and personnel compliance, ensuring resources are effectively used to meet delivery targets.
  • Employee Scheduling & Coordination: Work closely with operations managers and supervisors to align employee schedules with demand and customer requirements.
  • Performance Metrics: Measure individual performance against company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), driving continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to projects outside the standard scope of responsibilities as needed, supporting company-wide goals and initiatives.
  • Customer Service: Provides a level of customer service that fosters customer satisfaction and positions the service center to grow and retain customers.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to meet operational needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, transportation management, or related field.
  • One to three years of work-related experience, with experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation preferred.
  • Excellent technical judgment and the ability to apply independent evaluation, creativity, and latitude in making decisions.
  • Ability to develop, communicate, and execute detailed work plans that support operational improvements.
  • Possess a high level of motivation, customer focus, and a continuous improvement mentality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Ability to formulate and direct data analyses pertaining to field operations processes to identify problems and resolutions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to devise innovative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to plan in detail and communicate the detailed plan.
  • Ability to organize, lead, motivate, and care for all personnel involved in material operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing chaotic environment and consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

Work Environment:

  • This is a hands-on position reporting to the Eugene Service Center location daily.
  • The role may involve extended hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on operational needs and customer requirements.
