Job description

Locum - OB Hospitalist - Bakersfield, CA

Join a leading facility in Bakersfield, CA, as an OB Hospitalist offering flexible scheduling and competitive pay. Enjoy a supportive team environment with a start date as soon as possible, and work in a state-of-the-art hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced physicians seeking a rewarding locum role.

Location: 420 34th Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301

Start Date: 12/31/2025

Duration: Ongoing

Shift: Various shifts (8 or 12 hours available)

Hours/week: Flexible

Employment Type: Locum Tenens

Licenses/Certifications: Valid CA medical license, DEA, BLS required

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in OB hospitalist services preferred

Pay Rate: $195.00 per hour

Benefits: Competitive pay package, weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), robust referral bonus program, paid sick leave per applicable laws, licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable

What You'll Do:

  • Provide OB hospitalist services in a busy hospital setting
  • Manage antepartum, inpatient, and postpartum care
  • Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure patient safety and quality care
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies and oversee labor and delivery processes
  • Support high-risk pregnancies and coordinate care with specialists as needed
  • Document patient care and outcomes in hospital EMR system
  • Participate in on-call rotations and handle obstetric cases as scheduled

What You Need:

  • Valid California medical license
  • NBCRNA certification
  • BLS certification
  • At least 2 years of OB hospitalist experience
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
