🩺 JOB OVERVIEW

The Ambulatory RN – OB Case Manager provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient OB clinic. The RN will assess patients, develop and manage individualized care plans, coordinate services, administer medications and treatments, provide education, and collaborate closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent care-coordination skills, and the ability to provide culturally responsive care in a fast-paced ambulatory environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Coordinate OB patient care, referrals, follow-up, and continuity of services
  • Administer medications and treatments safely
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation
  • Advocate for patients and help navigate the healthcare system
  • Follow Alaska RN scope of practice, infection-control, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality improvement and staff education
  • Maintain required competencies and certifications
  • Float to other departments/assignments as needed
🏠 HOUSING & TRANSPORTATION

SEARHC does NOT provide housing or transportation. The traveler's agency is responsible for ensuring the traveler has appropriate housing and transportation.

🗓️ START DATE / FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT

Please note that the start date will be no earlier than 5 weeks after SEARHC receives the traveler's fingerprint cards in Juneau for processing.

Once accepted:

  • Schedule the fingerprint appointment promptly
  • Mail fingerprint cards to SEARHC within 2–3 days
  • Delays in submitting fingerprints may result in a delayed start date
📋 QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active, unrestricted Alaska RN license at submission
  • Recent OB Case Management experience within the last 2 years
  • BLS certification
  • Case Management certification preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • BSN preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, care coordination, and documentation skills
