Overview:
Company is advancing a major platform modernization program to support its clinical supply, kitting, and EPL Archives biorepository operations. The initiative includes implementation of Third Wave Analytics Lockbox LIMS, alignment with Salesforce-based ecosystems, and integration with enterprise capabilities such as SAP, reporting/data platforms, and client-facing portal strategy.
We are seeking a pragmatic, partnership-oriented Salesforce Solution Architect to serve as a key technical advisor during this transformation. The role will work closely with business leaders, IT, Operations, Quality, Finance, commercial teams, and implementation partners to ensure that Salesforce architecture decisions support scalable operations, reliable enterprise data flow, and long-term platform governance.
This is not a standard CRM-only Salesforce role. The Architect will help shape a Salesforce-native operational ecosystem supporting biorepository workflows, sample lifecycle management, billing-related data exchange, client-facing capabilities, and integration with adjacent enterprise systems. The right candidate will bring strong Salesforce architecture expertise, systems thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively across both business and technical audiences.
Experience in life sciences, GxP, LIMS, or other regulated operational environments is highly desirable, but not required. More important is the ability to design scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions in complex transformation programs where operational workflow, data integrity, integration strategy, and stakeholder alignment all matter.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary Salesforce architecture advisor for the company during implementation and early platform adoption, while developing a practical understanding of biorepository, clinical supply, kitting, and EPL Archives operating needs.
Partner with the systems integrator and Third Wave Analytics implementation team to review architecture, configuration patterns, data models, integration approaches, and release decisions for the Lockbox LIMS implementation.
Ensure Salesforce design decisions support operational efficiency, scalability, usability, maintainability, audit readiness, and long-term platform evolution across company service lines.
Guide integration strategy across Salesforce-native capabilities and adjacent enterprise systems, including SAP, finance/revenue processes, data lake or BI/reporting platforms, portal capabilities, and other operational applications.
Assess and influence data migration, data exchange, and master-data concepts so that operational workflows, reporting needs, client-facing capabilities, and downstream enterprise data use are considered early.
Help establish architectural governance for the Salesforce ecosystem, including design standards, environment strategy, security/permission models, release practices, documentation expectations, and technical decision records.
Translate complex Salesforce, integration, and platform architecture topics into clear recommendations for business, operations, quality, IT, and executive stakeholders.
Collaborate across cross-functional teams to balance near-term implementation delivery with company s longer-term modernization roadmap, including future service expansion, acquisitions, and enterprise portal/data strategies.
Provide an independent internal perspective during partner-led implementation, identifying risks, tradeoffs, dependencies, and design choices that may affect performance, validation, supportability, or business adoption.
Support future enhancements after initial implementation by building institutional knowledge of the Salesforce/Lockbox architecture and advising on how the platform should evolve with company operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect, Salesforce Technical Architect, or senior Salesforce technical lead in an enterprise environment.
- Deep understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, including data models, security, automation, declarative configuration, integration patterns, release management, and platform governance.
- Strong experience designing and supporting Salesforce integrations using modern API and event-driven patterns, such as REST APIs, Bulk API, platform events, Pub/Sub, middleware, or webhooks.
- Experience working with Salesforce managed packages or vendor-built Salesforce-native applications, including the ability to evaluate vendor design choices and downstream impacts.
- Ability to guide data migration and data-quality strategy, including mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and business ownership of source and target data.
- Working familiarity with Salesforce Flow, Apex concepts, metadata, permission models, and DevOps practices.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in complex, cross-functional programs involving business process change, enterprise systems integration, and multiple internal and external delivery partners.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage executives, business process owners, operations leaders, IT teams, vendors, and technical specialists.
- Pragmatic judgment and systems thinking, with the ability to balance architectural discipline, implementation realities, business priorities, and adoption needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in life sciences, healthcare, diagnostics, clinical research, biorepository, biobanking, laboratory, supply chain, or other regulated operational environments.
- Familiarity with LIMS, sample management, laboratory workflows, chain-of-custody concepts, controlled storage operations, or clinical archive processes.
- Exposure to GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, HIPAA, GDPR, computer system validation, audit trails, electronic records, or related compliance considerations.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with ERP, finance, LIMS, ELN, QMS, data lake, BI/reporting, portal, or other enterprise platforms.
- Experience supporting Salesforce org strategy, environment segregation, validation-aware release practices, or architecture governance in complex operating environments.
- Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud, customer portals, or client-facing digital capabilities.
- Salesforce certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, Integration Architect, Data Architect, or related credentials.
- Interest in emerging Salesforce capabilities, including Agentforce and AI-enabled workflow support, where they can be applied responsibly and practically.
