Job description

Job Title: Commercial Loan Processing Specialist
Department: NFGI Loan Processing
Reports To: Director of Loan Administration
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Position Summary
The Commercial Loan Processing Specialist prepares documentation for all new, renewed, extended, and modified commercial loans. This role is responsible for the accurate production of loan documents through our documentation software and delivers a complete, compliant loan package to both the lender and the customer.
In addition, this role contributes with following written procedures and proactively identifying and resolving issues within the loan processing workflow. Research may be required, including collaboration with team members and management, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of loan-related matters.
The Commercial Loan Processing Specialist is also responsible for gathering documentation needed for audits related to this function and works closely with the Loan Processing Team to ensure that all loan files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
Specific Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Follow all federal regulations and related internal procedures
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the loan policy, including lending limits and approval requirements
  • Participate in discussions with assigned lenders, loan assistants, and the loan review team to obtain and maintain current, accurate file information
  • Maintain and scan all received information into Synergy
  • Use department checklists to verify complete and accurate information for new and existing loans, coordinating with loan assistants, lenders, the loan review team, and third-party vendors
  • Process approved commercial loans using automated loan document preparation software
  • Input data based on information received from the Loan Assistant and Loan Officer
  • Collaborate with the Loan Assistant to resolve loan-related issues and obtain documents needed to complete the documentation and/or booking process, including recording mortgages, UCC filings, title recordings, and other lien-perfection items
  • Obtain required approvals for outstanding or missing items in accordance with loan operations procedures
  • Prepare participation agreements
  • Prepare documentation and support processes for SBA loans
  • Work collaboratively with the review team to ensure accurate documentation
  • Maintain review tracking reports
  • Maintain clear communication with the loan processing group and all relevant parties involved in the loan
  • Assist on projects through completion
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook

Education/Experience Required
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous bank loan operations experience along with lending regulation and loan documentation knowledge is preferred.
