The post-bacc intern will offer teaching and tech support for Music Department events, labs and courses.

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College with major or minor in Music.
  • Knowledge of the Music Department studios and program.
  • Ability to be flexible and learn new skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, in both Macintosh and Windows format.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse staff, faculty and student body.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with music softwares and hardwares (Ableton Live, Protools, Reaper, Max, Mixing Desks)

Act as Teaching Assistant for MUS classes
  • Assists faculty in readying teaching materials.
  • Sets up classrooms/studios for class.
  • Attends all classroom sessions.
  • Meets regularly with instructor to discuss studio issues.
  • Assists with tracking and recording student attendance.
  • Responds promptly to student inquiries regarding assignments and materials.

Monitor MUS studios during student studio hours
  • The Warehouse
    • Clean common desks and tables, return seating to standardized positions, return all external gear to gear closet after each event.
    • Guide users through functionality of the space, including use of the mixing desk, lighting design, software control.
    • Help design protocols of use, print space instructions, and think through usage functionality.
    • Help manage studio calendar.
    • Help with special events in the space.
    • Report to Prof. Ash Fure with any technical or usage issues.
  • Bregman and Brittrax Studios
    • Assist Technical Director Bethany Younge in studio upkeep as needed.
