Job description

Job Title: Dozier Motor Grader-Asphalt
Location: Byram, MS
A Dozier Motor Grader Operator is a specialized heavy equipment professional responsible for grading, leveling, and smoothing earth, gravel, and stone. The role requires extreme precision to shape roadbeds, parking lots, and construction sites according to exact blueprint specifications.
Core Responsibilities
  • Precision Grading: Maneuver the grader's moldboard (blade) to achieve rough and fine grade finishes to exact project specifications.
  • Site Preparation: Remove topsoil and distribute earth using the grader and occasionally complementary machines like bulldozers or scrapers.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily walk-arounds to check tire inflation, fluids, and cutting edges. Perform routine greasing, cleaning, and light repairs.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow strict job site protocols, communicate effectively with ground crews, and use computerized GPS tools for accuracy.

Key Qualifications & Skills
  • Mechanical & Technical Aptitude: Understanding of hydraulic systems, computerized controls, and GPS grading systems.
  • Physical & Spatial Coordination: Strong hand-eye coordination and balance to operate multi-lever/joystick controls simultaneously.
  • Reading Blueprints: Ability to interpret surveying stakes, grading plans, and civil blueprints.
  • Endurance: Ability to sit for extended periods, perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions, and occasionally lift heavy materials

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a "Negative" result.
  • Must be able to complete a post- offer physical with a "Capable" result
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
  • Experience preferred.
