Assistant SuperintendentWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to help create the field leadership capacity needed to deliver commercial construction projects safely, efficiently, and with a high standard of quality. This role exists to provide hands-on support to the Superintendent in coordinating daily site operations, keeping work on schedule, maintaining strong communication with trade partners, and ensuring project expectations are executed consistently from start to finish.In this role, you will gain practical experience in jobsite coordination, short-term planning, scheduling, safety leadership, quality control, trade partner management, and project closeout. It is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who wants to strengthen field operations knowledge and build the skills needed to grow into a Superintendent role within a collaborative, safety-focused team.This role supports projects across Southeast and Central Michigan. Ideal candidates may live in or near Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Saline, Chelsea, Jackson, or other surrounding areas.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning and coordinating short-term (2–4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three-week lookahead planning Monitor and support contractor performance to ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements Help facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and governing authorities Uphold jobsite safety, quality, environmental standards, and cleanliness at all times Assist with project close-out and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards Maintain detailed daily reports documenting site activity, progress, and key events Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports as required Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings QualificationsPreferred:5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar field role Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field Skills & Competencies:Strong understanding of commercial construction processes Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills Effective communication skills with clients, project teams, and trade partners Ability to manage risk and support cost control efforts Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Technical Proficiency:Experience with Project Sight, Phoenix, Textura, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office SuiteDiverse and inclusive workplace culture What Makes Clark DifferentYou'll build a career here, not just hold a job.
