Our Cooks create culinary experiences for our guests that they remember long after their vacation is over. You will prepare carefully crafted dishes with local ingredients whenever possible with elevated standards of quality and presentation. You are integral part of the team and help to provide reliability, dependability and a positive attitude to our high energy kitchens. Live a summer of adventure and memories, both creating your own and for others.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and produce food per Company recipes and specifications on a kitchen line and prep area in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food preparation and stocking workstation to ensure success for business demands.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work and storage spaces.
  • Stock kitchen, organize product, inspect food quality.
  • Completing food safety protocols and logs with assistance and direction from management.
  • Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handler Card.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs./23 kg, work around hot kitchen equipment safely, and stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
