Job description

Maintenance Technician (HVAC Certified) — Fortiva Residential

You know your way around refrigerant, a leaking pipe, painting an apartment, and work orders that never stop coming in. You take pride in fixing things right the first time, and residents notice. If that sounds like you, we want to talk.

Fortiva Residential is looking for a skilled, dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team at one of our apartment communities. This is a full-time, hands-on role for someone who actually enjoys the work — diagnosing problems, turning units around fast, and being the person residents can count on when something goes wrong.

What the job looks like day-to-day:

You'll handle service requests, make-readies for incoming residents, HVAC diagnostics and repairs, lock changes, appliance moves, and the occasional after-hours emergency call. No two days are exactly the same, and that's kind of the point.

What we're looking for:

  • HVAC Certification (required) — EPA Universal preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in apartment or residential maintenance
  • Solid all-around skills: HVAC, plumbing, electrical basics, appliances, general repairs
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation and a smart phone to use for work
  • Someone who responds to emergencies without having to be chased down
  • Pride in your work and respect for the people who live in the community you maintain

Physically, this role involves being on your feet most of the day, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and occasionally moving heavy equipment (up to 150 lbs with assistance).

Why Fortiva Residential? We're a residential property management company that treats our maintenance team like the professionals they are — because without you, nothing works. You'll have the tools, support, and communication you need to do your job well.

If you're certified, experienced, and ready to join a team that actually values what you do — apply today.

Your Benefits: We pay well every two weeks. After 90 days you can enroll in Health Care and 401-K Benefits, 80 hours PTO in the first year, plus nine days paid holidays, plus your Birthday off so you can celebrate. We pay $30/ month for using your phone for work. Bi-annual Maintenance Appreciation Bonus $200 in May & September. On-call Bonus (in addition to overtime paid) of $100/ week.

If you want to achieve further trainings and certifications- we will help you!
What is the next step? Send your resume together with a good time for a phone call and your number. Qualified candidates will be contacted within 1-2 days. We seek to hire within 1 to 3 weeks.
