Job Description

  • Manage complex business and commercial litigation matters from filing through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings.
  • Argue motions in Virginia Circuit Courts and other state courts.
  • Take and defend fact and expert depositions.
  • Develop and execute litigation and discovery strategy.
  • Manage client relationships and provide strategic guidance.
  • Prepare cases for bench and jury trials.
  • Serve as lead counsel where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with experienced trial attorneys on sophisticated litigation matters.
  • Deliver exceptional advocacy and client service.

Qualifications

  • Active Virginia Bar admission required.
  • 6+ years of civil litigation experience preferred; exceptional candidates with 2+ years and significant courtroom experience will be considered.
  • Substantial experience practicing in Virginia Circuit Courts.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to independently manage litigation matters from start to finish.
  • Excellent judgment and client-management skills.
  • Book of business welcomed but not required.
  • Backgrounds in commercial litigation, business litigation, construction litigation, professional liability, or general civil litigation are highly desirable.
