THE POSITION
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Liquor Store General Manager 3A to lead the operations of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store on East Lancaster Avenue in Downingtown.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role oversees all aspects of the store's performance, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving operational success. You will be a key leader in day-to-day activities and in anticipating store needs for marketing strategies and initiatives. As a Liquor Store General Manager 3A, you will perform the following duties:
  • Store Operations: Manage all internal store functions and coordinate with delivery, maintenance, and other teams to keep the store clean, safe, organized, and welcoming for customers and staff at all times
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with product selection, offer expert recommendations, resolve issues, and work with your staff to deliver excellent customer service
  • Staff Leadership: Guide and evaluate performance; provide training to ensure team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed
  • Marketing and Inventory: Monitor and manage inventory, product placement, and approved displays to help ensure effective participation in promotions and optimal customer experience
  • Business Recordkeeping: Handle cash management, sales reporting, and the maintenance of accurate records in line with company policies and procedures
  • Work Environment: Foster healthy positivity and teamwork to support staff in achieving high-level performance and exceeding sales targets while maintaining a top-tier environment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Free - Secure - Onsite Parking
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours will vary, totaling 75 hours biweekly.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Liquor Store General Manager 2B (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3 or a Liquor Store General Manager 2A (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 2 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1B (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of supervisory retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.
