The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-time Fuel Distribution System Worker (motor Vehicle Operator) (WG-5413-08) to work for Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) for the 78th Air Base Wing (ABW) at Robins Air Force Base located in Warner Robins, Georgia. In this position you will operate several complex workstations or a portion of a large fuel distribution system to receive, store, transfer, and dispense aviation/ground petroleum and cryogenic products.
Duty 1: Operates several complex workstations or a portion of a large fuel storage and dispensing system to transfer fuel to aircraft and refuelers. Transfers petroleum products from bulk storage via pipeline to underground and aboveground storage tanks.
Duty 2: Receives incoming petroleum fuel and cryogenic product shipments by truck, tank car, or pipeline. Spots trucks or tank cars at specific storage tanks according to type and grade of product.
Duty 3: Issues petroleum products to containers and refueling units through fillstands. Ensures that pertinent documentation is attached, inspecting forms for correctness and legibility.
Duty 4: 10% critical Inventories and inspects the storage/distribution system and the condition of the products received and issued. Takes daily readings of gauges and meters, as required, to obtain fuel, water, and temperature readings.
Duty 5: Operates refueling vehicles, up to and including tractor trailer, for dispensing of aviation fuels and defueling aircraft. Couples and uncouples truck tractor and trailer.
Duty 6: Performs operator maintenance of fuel storage and dispensing equipment and aircraft refueling vehicles. Makes minor repairs to tanks, pumps, and valves by replacing packing, tightening seals, and installing gaskets.
Duty 7: Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment (i.e., foot, eye, and ear protective gear) and clothing (i.e., cotton).

May have extended/other than normal duty hours
Must have a current CDL license (Class B)
Must be able to acquire Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
1. Knowledge of the operation of one or several complex work stations in fuel storage and distribution systems.
2. Knowledge of methods used in the load, unload, transfer, and storage of liquid fuels and cryogenic products.
3. Knowledge of the methods used to gauge tanks before, during, and at the end of fuel operations.
4. Skill in manipulating numerous controls to properly regulate the flow of liquids in a safe and efficient manner, and operating various types of pumps and other fuel distribution equipment.
5. Skill in performing routine operator maintenance and minor repair of items such as tanks, pumps, motors, and valves.
6. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
