Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the production team on multiple lines.
  • Lead by example and train, develop, and inspire production team.
  • Be instrumental in developing a high-performance team where all team members work coherently to “win” together.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and directs set-up and adjustments of machines.
  • Confer with shift leaders and coordinates production to ensure product is ready per customer requirements.
  • Operate filler and downstream when required.
  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Develop plans for efficient use of material, machines, and labor.
  • Responsible to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for the line.
  • Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
  • Operating manufacturing equipment for packaging products, including daily maintenance and problem solving
  • Anticipate needs before they arise, while keeping focus on deliverables and what is needed for timely success
  • Think systematically to help ensure everything makes sense and is in lock-step
  • Naturally prioritize and integrate complex inputs
  • Together with coworkers and global organization build up, maintain, and further develop the quality system and HACCP work at site
  • Comply with GMPs, PPE, sanitation procedures, general housekeeping and food safety & food defense practices and procedures
  • Utilize process data, trend analysis and training to monitor, troubleshoot and respond to process conditions to optimize the Plant operations
  • Collect and test samples on different stages of the process and act based on the results when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Secondary education or equivalent combination(s) of education, industry experience and training an asset
  • Hands on experience high volume manufacturing, preferably within the food and beverage field
  • Knowledge of statistical calculations and applications
  • Basic HACCP Knowledge
  • Excellent organization skills and abilities to make decisions on quality issues
  • Must have flexibility with the variety of work responsibilities available
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force at times and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Ability to work in cold and hot environments (approximately 38F-80F degrees)
  • Ability to be mobile in accomplishing tasks and or moving from one worksite (up to 1-mile range) to another this could include but not be limited to in-plant departments, (Shipping- Receiving, Production, etc.)
  • Acts as interim Supervisor as needed
