We want our colleagues to grow alongside our global business, which is why we reward exceptional performance and offer industry-leading benefits.

Come grow with us.

Why Join This Team?

This is a pivotal role within LG's Product Support Engineering team-ideal for a motivated engineer who thrives in a high-performance, solution-driven culture. You'll work at the intersection of pre-sales engineering, product launch, and customer engagement, collaborating closely with Sales, U.S. R&D, HQ R&D, Product Planning, and Operations.

As a key contributor, you will:

  • Directly influence the development and successful launch of LG products
  • Support sales growth by strengthening product and technical knowledge across teams
  • Enhance LG's ability to win competitive deals and deliver high-value solutions

If you're dedicated to HVAC, motivated to learn, and enjoy supporting others through technical expertise, this team offers an environment where you can thrive. The only "long hours" here are spent sharpening your skills and staying ahead of evolving products and technologies-whether you aspire to grow into future roles or simply excel as a technical expert.

The Opportunity:

The Senior Applications Engineer within the Product Support Engineering team provides advanced engineering support for the proper application of LG Residential and Commercial air-cooled products, as well as OA and DOAS solutions, within the U.S. market.

This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, and Marketing across the U.S. CAC organization to deliver a unified message to customers while driving sales performance and market share growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced pre- and post-sales engineering support to LG staff and customers for the proper application of LG Residential, Commercial air-cooled, and OA/DOAS products.
  • Independently lead the creation and maintenance of application presentations, technical documents, and tools used by internal teams and customers.
  • Proactively identify missing or incomplete product data and independently resolve gaps by delivering accurate, timely information.
  • Mentor and support Product Support Engineering team members, providing guidance on daily activities and career development.
  • Collaborate with LG sales teams and Rep/Distributor partners on projects involving unique or complex application designs using LG products.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by reviewing R&D data for New Product Introductions (NPIs), developing technical content, and validating materials prior to release to Technical Writing, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Conduct technical training sessions and seminars for LG employees and customers on new and existing products.
  • Partner with Sales to identify opportunities and develop strategies that expand application knowledge and support revenue growth.
  • Support the creation and review of catalogs, brochures, submittals, guide specifications, engineering manuals, presentations, and related materials.
  • Assist with marketing and industry events to position LG products as preferred solutions in the marketplace.
  • Monitor and track industry standards and trends (ASHRAE, AHRI, DOE, EPA, and others), developing strategies to ensure product and system alignment.
  • Collaborate with Product Line Management to support development needs for existing and new products, including contributing to business cases informed by market demand and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in ME, EE or equivalent work experience
  • 7 years experience in HVAC design or applied commercial heating & air conditioning industry
  • Experience in the following would be a plus
  • Technical product application support experience
  • Experience interacting with factory R&D teams
  • NPI: product definition, product/feature prioritization, product details/operation, strategic application and positioning
  • Experience with VRF HVAC systems a plus
  • Travel when necessary
