Manufacturing Engineer
Ducommunis an industry leader in fabrication of large, complex aircraft skins andleading edges. Manufacturing Engineer is needed to support all aspects ofmanufacturing complete skins including stretch forming, brake forming, hotforming, heat treatment, chemical milling, machining, chemical processing.

We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications.
Our facility in Gardena, CA is a leading global supplier of large stretch formed aircraft skins, hot forming of titanium, superplastic forming and complex fastened and welded assemblies.
Job Summary
Assist in up-front cost estimating, manufacturing plans and conceptual tool designs
Communicate with shop personnel to assist with proper tool usage and manufacturing procedures
Provide a strong technical interface with customers and vendors
Define and implement solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency
Develop reports, presentations, RCCA's and rework instructions
Working knowledge of CAD, Tool Design and MBD
Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
Performs other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project committees.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Team leader
Critical thinking skills and good decision-making thought processes
Proficient in all Microsoft and Outlook programs; highly proficient in Microsoft excel
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills including the ability to articulate complex ideas in a simple manner.
Ability to effectively communicate among all levels within the organization.
Required Experience and Education
Toperform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlinedexperience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product orindustry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Degree
Minimum 2 years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
Work Environment andSafety Equipment Required
Office environment and light manufacturing environment
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and fully enclosed steel or composite toe shoes while in all manufacturing areas.
Hearing protection and hard hat in certain manufacturing areas.
Noise level is usually moderate
Employee will comply with all applicable ISO procedures (ISO 9001, 14001)
