PAY RATE: $11.90 per hour
SCHEDULE: 12 - 16 Hours per week. This is a year-round position.
DEPARTMENT: Library
JOB SUMMARY
  • Performs routine, recurring tasks including the following: shelving of library materials, simple repairs, checking in materials, and inputting data.
  • Monitors book shelves, straightens materials and books and ensures all items are properly located.
  • May provide general assistance to patrons regarding location of library materials and other information relating to the library.
RESPONSIBLITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to work 12-16 hours per week with some shifts during evening and weekend hours.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must be able to read, spell, alphabetize, and sort in alphabetical and numerical order.
  • Must be able to communicate and interact with the public in a professional manner.
  • Some knowledge of library reference, circulation, classification methods, practices and procedures preferred.
  • Skills test will be required.
  • This position requires regular physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, crouching, stooping, reaching, and walking, as well as moving or rolling carts. Duties may be performed outdoors and require working in various weather conditions.
