Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Textile Material Associate supports and partners closely with the Textile Materials Developer in the research, development, sourcing, and approval of textile materials for BPS proprietary apparel brands. This role collaborates with suppliers and cross-functional partners, including Product Development, Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintain and organize the internal material library, including fabric specifications and development records.
  • Create, maintain, and upload Fabric Information Sheets (FIS) and related material specifications within the Centric PLM system.
  • Support Textile Material Developer in fabric sourcing and development activities with suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Manage, track and monitor development timelines and coordinate with suppliers to ensure sample yardage, testing, and approvals remain on schedule.
  • Track fabric testing results and collaborate with the Hong Kong Testing team to address and resolve issues.
  • Assist Textile Material Developer with material development across all BPS proprietary brands.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to use MS Office suite; Proficient in use of MS Excel.
  • Experience in Centric/PLM system a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective collaborator in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstrated accountability and follow-through on assigned projects and tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Textiles, Materials or related field preferred.
  • Years of experience: 1-3 years in fabric sourcing, textile development, materials management

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • N/A

LOCATION:
  • Bass Pro Base Camp - On Site, Springfield MO

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regular walks, sits, stands and performs computer work
  • Use hand tools to di-sect samples and use measuring gauges
  • Occasional lifting up to 50lbs

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Independent Judgement-Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
