Now Hiring: Library Page at Highland Library!

Are you a high school student with a knack for customer service and a love for books? Highland Library is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Library Page to join our team!

As a Library Page, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the heart of our community space by ensuring our collection is organized and accessible. You'll also be a friendly face for our patrons, helping them navigate the library and find their next great read.

Responsibilities
  • Process, sort, and shelve library materials with precision.
  • Maintain the inviting appearance and organization of the library.
  • Provide exceptional in-person customer service, assisting patrons with locating materials and using the catalog system.
  • Perform other related duties as required, including assisting with library programs.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in high school.
  • Six (6) months of customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, spell, alphabetize, count, and follow directions accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the public.
  • Previous library experience is a plus, but not required!
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • If 18 or older, successful completion of a background check and provision of a current driving record.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Work Environment & Compensation
  • This position primarily operates in a typical office setting with climate controls.
  • The role involves periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, handling materials, grasping, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds and lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds is required.
  • Starting wage: $10.74 per hour, paid via direct deposit.
  • This position does not include health, dental, or paid time off benefits.
  • Highland City contributes 7.5% into a 401K defined benefit plan, replacing a Social Security deduction from your paycheck.
