Job description


The Evening/Weekend Library Circulation Assistant supports the daily operations of the library by providing high-quality circulation and customer service during evening and weekend hours. Reporting to the Library Director, this position assists students, faculty, staff, and other patrons with accessing library resources. The Evening/Weekend Library Circulation Assistant works under the supervision of the Library Director.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist students and university staff in location of print and non-print materials
  • Charge, discharge and renew library materials
  • Respond to patron queries in-person and by telephone
  • Answer directional questions
  • Assist patrons with access to reserve materials
  • Collect materials from carts, tables, and browsing areas.
  • Provide basic technical support for printers and copiers.
  • Working two evenings per week (Monday and Tuesday 4:00 PM ? 11:00 PM)
  • Opening and closing the library on every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Managing work-study students
  • Providing circulation services to library patrons
  • Work on special projects as assigned.
