JDI Industrial Services is the industrial maintenance division of J. Davis Inc., a family-owned organization providing construction, grading, supplemental maintenance, and industrial services to South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. With four divisions and three offices in the coastal and upstate regions of South Carolina, we are proud to offer superior services
to the southeastern United States.
We are currently seeing a Marketing Writer. The Marketing Writer is responsible for developing compelling written content that elevates JDI’s presence, engages target audiences across multiple platforms, and supports business development efforts through clear, persuasive communication. The ideal candidate brings strong writing ability, a working knowledge of SEO and best proposal practices, and a genuine eagerness to learn the technical language of industrial mechanical contracting.
Job Duties amp; Responsibilities:
Web Content
  • Work with Marketing Manager to plan, write, and publish optimized web content including service
  • pages, project spotlights, blog posts, and landing pages that reflect JDI capabilities in mechanical
  • construction and contracting.
  • Conduct keyword research and apply on-page SEO best practices to improve organic search rankings
  • and drive qualified traffic to the company website.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather technical information and translate it into clear, audience-
  • appropriate web copy.
  • Ensure all written content is consistent in tone, brand voice, and industry terminology.
Proposal Writing
  • Lead the writing, editing, and formatting of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for
  • Qualifications (RFQs), and Statements of Qualifications (SOQs).
  • Work closely with estimating, project management, and business development team to gather scope
  • details, project narratives, and differentiators.
  • Develop and maintain a library of reusable proposal content including company boilerplates, project
  • descriptions, and staff bios.
  • Manage proposal deadlines and coordinate review cycles to ensure on-time, polished submissions.
  • Track proposal outcomes and identify trends to improve win rates over time.

Social Media:
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant
  • platforms.
  • Write and schedule posts showcasing completed projects, company culture, industry expertise, safety
  • milestones, and community involvement.
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments, and grow the company's online community.
  • Photograph internal events and special occasions; organize and maintain content on the company

  • Monitor social media analytics and adjust strategy to improve reach, engagement, and follower growth.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Manager, field teams, and project managers to source project site

General Marketing Support:

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in web writing, with a strong understanding of SEO principles and the ability to synthesize
  • complex information into compelling narratives
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with mechanical construction or commercial/industrial contracting preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in marketing, content writing or proposal coordination, preferably within
  • construction, engineering, or a related trade industry
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, English, journalism or Related Field or
  • experience.
