We are looking for a Lending Advisor to join our team! The salary range for this position is $22.80 to $28.50 per hour based on skills and experience. This position is classified as On-site.
SCOPE:
As a dedicated member of the OnPath FCU team, this role performs a variety of tasks that in partnership with the surrounding departments, provides cost effective financial services for the benefit of our members who are our primary focus. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The Lending Advisor is responsible for creating an exceptional experience for each member that they encounter. Lending Advisors set the standard of service from the time that they answer a call and each time that they assist a member by answering questions, educating a member on loan processes, and assisting a member with new services including deposits and other products.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Takes inbound loan by phone applications for both members and potential members.
• Processes online loan applications and enter complete information for quick and efficient loan decisioning.
• Responsible for having consultative conversations with members, listening, analyzing data and offer services suited specifically for that member.
• Responsible for cross selling opportunities using knowledge gained during application process, credit reports, and fact-finding process.
• Responsible for outbound calling to generate new loan leads.
• Ability to meet or exceed individual and department sales goals established by the CU.
• Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills to explain credit union policies and to resolve basic member concerns in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
• Maintains and develops a working knowledge of current lending policies and procedures.
• Responsible for having a working knowledge of all documents as it pertains to membership, account opening and loan services. Must know how to obtain the information and be able to explain disclosures properly to the member.
• Understands, can explain, and offer loan and loan protection products: Debt Protection, GAP, and MRC.
• Maintains knowledge of state and federal regulations that guide compliance regarding transactions.
• Able to leverage technology within the Symitar and MeridianLink systems.
• Maintains the security of the work area and keeps it organized and neat in appearance.
• Performs the duties of a Lending Advisors as needed.
• May operate as a leader in the absence of supervisor.
Experience:
• Two to three years of experience in a financial institution or retail institution.
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
A high school diploma, some college preferred
Interpersonal Skills
Candidate must have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting.
Other Skills
• Established history of working well with others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are a necessity. Candidate must possess the ability to read and write effectively.
• Proven track record in cross-selling products and services.
• Successful completion of the credit union's Sales Team training program.

Physical Requirements
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
