Configuration Analyst (BOM / Manufacturing)

Position Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Analyst to join the Data Power & Control Division Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. This position provides technical support to Production, Engineering and Customer Support for the designated production facility.The role focuses on maintaining and improving Bills of Materials (BOMs), including routing and material structures, to support consistent and efficient manufacturing processes.

What Will You Do?

    Develop and maintain automated queries, dashboards, and reporting tools for BOM and designchange metrics
  • Assess and improve BOM configuration, repeatability, and metrics based on past and current builds
  • Create models and standardized processes to guide configuration strategy
  • Identify opportunities to reduce lead time via routing improvements
  • Identify and integrate new sub-assemblies into existing BOMs where effective. This includes the creation of the sub-assembly BOM and documentation
  • Work with Design Engineering and NPI Program Management to Ensure BOM specifications and part attributes align with company standards, as well as ensuring accurate structuring of these changes to the Manufacturing Bill of Materials
  • Process Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and deviations while upholding our standards
  • Utilize ERP software to create and edit optimized build of manufacturing
  • Complete thorough inspection of engineering drawing accuracy. Including assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturing notes
  • Read and interpret product drawing notes and dimensions and convert these to manufacturing operations
Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufactruing environment with relevant, progressive Part Code and Bill of Materials, or equivalent work experience and expertise
  • Bachelors degree or equivlant combination of education and relevant work experience required
  • Experiene using ERP systems to support manufacturing or configuration activities required, Infor CloudSuite Industrial (Syteline) preferred
  • Ability to do basic data analysis (e.g., spreadsheet tools such as Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills both verbal and written

Preferred:

  • Intermediate mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to read technical drawings and wiring schematics
  • Familiar with production methods specific to electromechanical assembly preferred
  • Desire to learn technical writing
  • Starline product knowledge experience a plus

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
  • Regularly required to communicate with others.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
