POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Sr. Commercial Finance Manager, this position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Avtron’s enterprise reporting and business intelligence capabilities.

This role supports Finance and cross-functional teams by delivering high-quality Power BI reporting, building scalable data models, and ensuring consistent KPI definitions across the organization.

The Business Reporting Analyst plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making, supporting the Microsoft tenant migration to Legrand, and transitioning Avtron toward a standardized, governed, and scalable reporting environment.

This position requires a blend of technical BI expertise and financial acumen, including strong understanding of financial statements, performance metrics, and operational drivers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Power BI & Reporting Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting packages across Finance, Sales, Operations, and Customer Experience
  • Support and enhance key enterprise reports including Daily Flash, Balanced Scorecard, and operational performance reporting
  • Translate business requirements into intuitive, actionable dashboards and visualizations

Data Modeling & BI Architecture

  • Develop and maintain scalable data models and semantic layers within Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
  • Establish structured data relationships (fact/dimension models) to support consistent reporting
  • Build and maintain standardized datasets and reusable reporting components

KPI Definitions & Business Glossary

  • Define, document, and maintain enterprise KPI definitions and metric logic
  • Support development and upkeep of a centralized business glossary
  • Ensure consistency of metrics across reports and alignment with finance and operational reporting standards

Financial Analysis & Insights

  • Perform variance analysis and support interpretation of key financial metrics (Revenue, Bookings, Backlog, Margin, etc.)
  • Partner with Finance leadership to provide insights for business performance and decision-making
  • Support development of reporting that aligns with P&L structure and operational drivers
  • Develop reporting tools for Financial Planning and Analysis

Reporting Governance & Documentation

  • Maintain documentation for reports, data models, and business logic
  • Support BI governance efforts including dataset certification, data quality checks, and ownership tracking
  • Ensure reporting aligns with standardized templates and governance frameworks
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions
  • Provide support for ad hoc reporting requests and analysis
  • Act as a bridge between business users and technical data solutions

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • BS or BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field

Skills:

  • Strong Power BI development skills (reporting, DAX, data modeling)
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts (P&L, variance analysis, KPIs)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and ability to translate data into business insights
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Experience improving processes and driving automation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems required
