Job description

Our mission is to provide modernized technology platforms, elevated technology support, and valuable insights, empowering our clients to excel in what they do best.
The Billing Operations Manager will perform operational oversight over Opensity Solution's billing support services. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position will manage service teams providing billing support to Opensity Solutions' clients, including oversight into all stages of the legal billing cycle. In this capacity, the Billing Operations manager will be responsible for overall planning and administration of clients' billing functions. In addition, this position will provide expert knowledge, technical support, and training when necessary to billing service employees.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure timely and accurate legal billing
  • Ensure billing narratives meet firm, client, and attorney specific guidelines
  • Manage the investigation and resolution of discrepancies and errors in the legal billing process
  • Act as liaison with key client contacts
  • Produce accurate and regular reporting on metrics
  • Oversee entire legal billing process for service teams
  • Work closely with attorneys, secretarial support staff, and administrative departments within client firms
  • Provide quality control on complex billing issues
  • Facilitate the development of staff by providing operational support; provide timely feedback on work product; provide regular coaching and evaluation, and recognize staff performance and accomplishments

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or legal studies
  • 5-7 years' experience in legal billing, Aderant or similar legal billing platform experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of collection practices and laws
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple assignments
  • Maintain confidential information
  • Make objective, independent judgments
  • Ability to excel under pressure and provide quality work product
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with varying levels of people within the organization
  • Work productively and cooperatively with other employees.

The Compensation range for this role is up to $115,000 annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus.
