Job Description
Role Mission
The Associate Merchandising Manager - Men's Leathergoods is responsible for providing market expertise, filtering the assortment, and establishing buy quantities for the Retail and Digital channels in North America that meet the individual market needs and financial goals within Open to Buy (OTB) parameters, in close collaboration with the Merchandising Manager for Men's Leathergoods. By demonstrating risk-taking in business and product decisions and providing timely and insightful competitive feedback to Worldwide (WW) Merchandising, the Associate Merchandise Manager will keep Gucci North America a leader in the market.
Key Accountabilities
Business Management
  • Manage the success of the department in collaboration with the Merchandising Manager of Men's Leathergoods through driving seasonal business strategies that exceed financial goals within OTB parameters;
  • With guidance from WW merchandising, ensure key messages, master orders or guidelines are implemented in the assortment during buying campaigns;
  • Develop assortment in accordance with overall strategies, brand growth strategies, and financial plans;
  • Analyze selling trends and react with reorders opportunities and consolidations, monitoring the progress of sales and profitability;
  • Partner with Inventory Planning on timely allocation of newness to drive sales and sell through while prioritizing key locations and across channels for an omnichannel approach;
  • Perform in-season analysis and strategy proposal to optimize assortments by store and by channel;
  • Collaborate and coordinate special projects across categories during the buying campaign (capsules, holidays, buy now wear now, precious skin, caravans, etc.);
  • Deliver both qualitative and quantitative feedback WW teams;
  • Review competitor activity and monitor internal and external pricing to raise opportunities to optimize positioning on key products.

Retail Support
  • Responsible for partnering with regional retail merchandising team for product trainings, inventory support, etc.;
  • Enhance understanding of local market needs and segmentation by eliciting feedback through constant communication with both stores and regional retail merchandising team;
  • Gather regular feedback from stores in terms of sales, client profile, and client reaction.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Business, Finance, or related discipline preferred;
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant buying experience gained within a fashion and/or luxury environment;
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook;
  • Flexibility to travel with short notice domestically and internationally, 15-20% of the year;
  • Able to work a demanding schedule which can include on an adhoc basis evenings, weekends, and holidays;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced and dynamic environment;
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and easily adaptable to change in an ever-changing environment;
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented;
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Strong eye for relevant and brand luxury product;
  • Commercial awareness and strong business acumen.

Salary Range - New York City
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York City, GUCCI includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. In addition, where a candidate falls within the disclosed range estimate may be dependent on the applicable geographic differential associated with the location in which the position may be filled.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $80,000 USD to $85,000 USD.
