Job description

Description

Skills of Central PA is seeking a full time Training Specialist and will be based in Lewistown, Pa. This position is responsible for implementing the organization's training program ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding training. The Training Specialist will work with new employees to teach them the skills and knowledge they will need to work in our programs/facilities. The Training Specialist will be required to become trainers in: First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, Ukeru. The Training Specialist is also an administrator of Skills of Central PA's Learning Management System.


This position will typically work Monday through Friday 8am-4pm with some flexibility required. Moderate travel and willingness to work non-traditional hours on occasion are required.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications and Media, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Human Resources, or other related field is preferred. 1 - 3 years of experience in the human services field is required. A strong training skill set is necessary, including:

  • Requires knowledge of commonly used concepts of adult learning.
  • The ability to train others to deliver training using a variety of acceptable training methods and techniques.
  • The ability to develop curriculum, learning objectives, and/or course materials for adult learners.
  • The ability to deal with people in a manner which is trauma-informed and shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Applicants must be highly proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

PA driver's license required. Pre-employment physical and drug screening required. Moderate travel and willingness to work non-traditional hours on occasion are required.
