We are searching for the best talent for Manager, GCO Learning & Training in Spring House, PA.

Purpose:

The Clinical Trial Learning & Training (CTL&T) organization develops and implements training strategy and design for clinical trial training and for GCO functional role-based global onboarding programs. This includes determining training needs, developing, and implementing strategic learning initiatives, and leveraging resources to deploy the training plan. CTLT delivers impactful learning and training programs that address gaps and build capabilities to meet future needs while ensuring compliance with relevant Regulations, Standards, and Good Clinical Practice. The organization aims to enhance the effectiveness of learning for those conducting clinical trial activities, improve site engagement/satisfaction and enhance preparedness of GCO roles that support portfolio services.

The Manager, GCO Learning & Training [Learning and Instructional Design] creates, defines, and drives learning strategy, techniques, and process capabilities to enable industry leading approach for training of GCO clinical trial teams and sites. This includes creating and enhancing functional role-based training programs for best-in-class training across the globe. Designing tailored study-specific training programs, that includes oversight of content development, managing projects, managing vendors, measuring learning effectiveness & process efficiency, engaging stakeholders, and learners.

Activities include project management and acting as the primary point of contact for external vendors involved in content creation. Partnering closely with CTL&T colleagues, other applicable Subject Matter Experts (SME), and stakeholders (internal and external) to conduct learning needs assessment to ensure training design will deliver expected outcomes. Contributing to other key initiatives within CTL&T.

You will be responsible for:

  • Understands intended training roles and skills to connect training content and approaches to delivery as part of onboarding and development activities of trainees.
  • Supports the design, development, deployment, and administration of training programs that support internal business objectives.
  • Facilitate the overall training needs assessment with various teams to define training plans with clear learning objectives.
  • Establish a systematic approach to learning, leveraging available resources to design, develop and deploy value-added training solutions based on problem solving analysis.
  • Design and develop innovative, comprehensive curriculums utilizing advanced design/development techniques and principles of adult learning theory.
  • Identify, oversee, and partner with external vendors and developers when needed.
  • Provides consultation guidance, feedback, and support to Subject Matter Experts through the course design process including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation to produce high-quality training materials.
  • Support CTL&T representatives to develop high quality solutions leveraging fit for purpose training techniques including guidance for effective organization of content and opportunities for interactivity.
  • Define measures to assess, monitor, and report on the effectiveness and impact of training interventions as well as opportunities for improvement and refinement.
  • Provide guidance, co-create or design plans for training materials, participant guides, facilitator guides, job aids and performance support tools for all training materials and evaluation strategies.
  • Manage multiple learning projects and potential to manage an internal or external team of learning professionals required to design and deliver learning solutions.
  • Expand knowledge of required tools and techniques through independent study, on-the-job training, and formal training
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, advancements, training design, innovative training techniques, evaluation processes and technologies
  • Coach and mentor peers within the CTL&T organization in the principles of adult learning, new learning capabilities and services, and training strategies. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

Principal Relationships:

The Manager, GCO Learning & Training [Learning and Instructional Design] works closely with CTL&T team members, clinical study team leaders, operational leaders, Therapeutic Area leaders, IT, Quality & Compliance, Procurement, and representatives from other Johnson & Johnson Learning Development Teams.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Required Minimum Education / Experience:

  • BA/BS (required) ideally in instructional design, training, instructional technology, or education. MA/MS in instructional design or a related field of study highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of business experience working in education and/or design and development role is required.
  • Pharmaceutical industry or medical experience is preferred.
  • Hematology, Oncology or Neurology experience is preferred.
  • Experience with organizational change management is preferred.
  • Experience creating consultative business partnerships and leading large-scale training initiatives is required.
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Effective consulting and influencing skills, a track record of developing solid relationships with internal clients, problem solving skills, and strong project management and vendor management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities is required.
  • Experience with one or more of the following training delivery methods is required: e-learning, virtual, or mobile.
  • Strong understanding of the ADDIE and SAM models for instructional design, Learning Management Systems and SCORM standards preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to both online and instructor-led learning programs is required.
  • Ability to apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles in the design and development of blended learning approaches and solutions is required.
  • Must be customer focused and can lead training process continuous improvement and learner engagement initiatives from an internal lens of time, cost, and quality and through an external lens of our Clinical Trial Investigators.
  • Must be proactive, and willing to challenge the status quo. Able to manage change positively and sees change as an opportunity to improve processes and tools.
  • Must have the ability to use data driven approach to drive training needs analysis and overall effectiveness with internal customers.
  • Familiarity with content authoring tools and software, such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, MS Office.
