What is the Opportunity?

Aecon is dedicated to inspiring a learning culture that promotes high performance and organizational health and is looking for a dedicated Integrated Digital Delivery Learning Specialist. As part of the Learning & Development team, reporting to the Learning Design Team Lead, this role will exclusively support the learning needs of the IDD team, and as such, will have a dotted reporting line to the VP, IDD and Geomatics. Working closely with the Learning Experience Designer, IDD, functional stakeholders, subject matter experts, and Learning Business Partners, you will design, develop, maintain, and continuously improve learning solutions that support the development of critical IDD capabilities. 

What You'll Do Here:

Learning Program Support & Coordination

  • Coordinate learning initiatives and projects that support IDD capability development.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to gather, organize, and maintain technical learning content in alignment with each of IDD's Six Pillar Framework areas: Design Hub, Build Planner, Geohub, Site Twin, Workpacks and Insights.
  • Support the implementation of learning pathways, onboarding programs, and skill development initiatives.
  • Assist in scheduling, communications, logistics, and learner engagement activities.
  • Maintain learning documentation, resource libraries, and supporting materials.

Content Development & Curation

  • Develop and maintain learning, communication, and visual support materials-including guides, job aids, presentations, graphics, videos, and eLearning content-to promote understanding and effective use of IDD tools, systems, and processes.
  • Convert technical information into easy-to-understand learning resources for diverse audiences.
  • Ensure content remains current, accurate, and aligned with evolving business practices and technologies.
  • Apply established instructional design standards and templates to support consistency across programs.
  • Support content migration and maintenance within learning technologies and collaboration platforms.

Facilitation & Learner Support                                                                  

  • Facilitate instructor-led and virtual learning sessions as required.
  • Support train-the-trainer initiatives and instructor readiness activities.
  • Serve as a learning resource for employees participating in IDD learning programs.
  • Monitor learner participation and completion activities.
  • Collect learner feedback and identify opportunities to improve the learning experience.

Learning Administration & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report learning participation, completion, and engagement metrics.
  • Assist with learning evaluations and feedback collection activities.
  • Support audits and quality reviews of learning content and learning records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve learning processes, resources, and program administration.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Learning & Development function.
  • Stay aware of learning design, digital learning, AI, and construction technology trends that may improve the learner experience.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years proven working experience in adult learning principles, design techniques, and innovative learning solutions
  • Experience working with technical subject matter experts and translating complex technical information into accessible learning materials.
  • Demonstrated experience in hands-on design and development of blended learning solutions (i.e., instructor-led, e-learning, virtual-learning, support resources)
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, technology, or digital environments is considered an asset.

Technical proficiency requirements:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Proficiency in Articulate360 Suite
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems, specifically SuccessFactors
  • Familiarity with other authoring and design tools (e.g., Captivate, Camtasia, Canva, Snagit, etc.) an asset.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Canva AI, text-to-speech tools) to support content development
  • Demonstrated awareness of responsible AI use, including fact-checking, privacy, bias, accessibility, and appropriate handling of confidential or sensitive information.

Submissions should include examples of e-learning, storyboards, facilitator materials, learner resources, performance support tools, multimedia assets, visual design samples, or other learning deliverables that demonstrate the candidate's technical and creative expertise.

Reason for vacancy: New position

The expected salary range for this role is $70,000-$80,000 per year

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may includecertifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
