Job description

Job Summary
Working lead responsible for a patient caseload while also overseeing a team of physical and/or occupational therapists. Role is accountable to identify and establish best practices in physical therapy and ensure clinical outcome meet or exceed expectations. Role will also be involved in staffing hiring, performance management, and learning & development.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage team of direct reports on Sheridan Drive
  • Work with HR and leadership to interview, select, train, evaluate, and provide performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with other leads to develop training opportunities; deliver training.
  • Review direct report activities to ensure positive functional patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and key performance operational indicators.
  • Supervise the development of patient care plans, treatments, and the recording of patient progress.
  • Review each bundle extension requests in department for quality assurance and clinical reasoning
  • Regularly audit patient charts to evaluate and determine the level of care provided meets compliance requirements.
  • Relays all pertinent information to staff and assures that communications are effectively transmitted and received; interprets and explains practice policies, procedures, objectives, operations, and service organizations.
  • Performs all duties listed on Physical or Occupational Therapist job description.
  • Handles other tasks as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience as a physical therapist in an outpatient setting.
  • 2+ year supervisory experience.
  • Clinical skills and experience with functional movement in manual therapy required.
  • Current NYS physical or occupational therapy license required.

Physical Demands
  • Clinic/gym environment; considerable physical activity.
  • Heavy lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to stand majority of shift.
  • Close proximity to patients and coworkers.
