Position Description
Reporting to the Director, the Learning & Development Specialist supports all aspects of education programs, with responsibilities that include designing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving AAAHC training initiatives.
The individual in this role collaborates with internal and external subject matter experts (SME) to develop and deliver learning content and programming.
This role is integral to advancing our organizational mission and achieving strategic themes to "Measurably drive quality improvement in patient care" and "Invest in our people and strategic relationships" by creating and delivering compelling, relevant learning experiences for AAAHC clients, Surveyors, and Headquarters employees-accelerating compliance with AAAHC Standards and quality practices while enhancing professional skills, increasing productivity, strengthening retention, and fostering innovation and adaptability.
  • Transform provided content into engaging training materials for webinars, self-paced eLearning, and blended learning formats, ensuring alignment with audience needs and applicable Standards (update when appropriate)
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs; e.g., governance members, Surveyors, staff, vendors) to establish and adhere to project timelines; coordinate session scheduling (including rehearsals/pre-records), meeting logistics, and materials/resources for both live and virtual education events; collaborate with Corporate Events Manager for live events
  • Publish and upload learning content to AAAHC's Learning Management System (LMS); update and maintain LMS content, learner transcripts, and report data
  • Edit and enhance recorded video and audio content ensuring high-quality deliverables before publication
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and provide timely response
  • Create evaluations to monitor and report on the effectiveness of training for learners in achieving learning and performance goals
  • Update and maintain the centralized learning content library to manage different types of educational content and control versions, and to increase content consistency and reusability
  • Facilitate educational/training sessions, as requested
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of the 1095 Engage Accreditation Management System (AMS) to ensure effective education development; participate in UAT for system enhancements as requested
  • Provide support for live and virtual events using event-management platforms, including registration, session setup, and content delivery
  • Support specific program areas by developing, maintaining, and delivering associated training content
  • Analyze learning data and generate dashboards and reports to evaluate program effectiveness; recommend improvements based on data insights
Minimum Qualifications and Job-specific Competencies Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of two-four years of directly related work experience
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience with concepts, practices, and procedures of Instructional Design and Development
  • Ability to create engaging eLearning modules using Instructional Design software (e.g., Articulate 360)
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and simplify complex concepts to create engaging and visually appealing learning content
  • Ability to foster learning using strategies that engage learners in critical inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving, and that develop competence in learners
  • Experience using video editing tools and eLearning authoring tools to create and produce online/interactive content
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Knowledge and familiarity with event management platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining excellent quality and superior customer services
  • Effective communication abilities, technical writing and editing, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification or graduate degree in Instructional Design or related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency using video editing tools and eLearning authoring tools to create and produce online/interactive content (e.g., Camtasia, Articulate 360)
  • Knowledge of emerging and progressive instructional design techniques and strategies
  • Experience using Absorb LMS
  • Experience using Cvent event management platform
Working Conditions & Travel Expectations
  • Estimated travel:
    Light work: Exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
