Job description

Position Summary:

The Senior Program Manager SW leads the development and execution of program plans for specific customer platforms. The Senior Program Manager SW must be an active leader with excellent communication, presentation, and team building skills.

The Senior Program Manager SW must proactively manage available resources to achieve the program timing and profitability goals.

The Senior Program Manager SW helps identify and resolve inter-team and intra-team conflict and barriers in cooperation with the functional managers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities outlined in the job description are to be used as a guideline and are not meant to be all-inclusive of the essential functions of the position. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

  • Develop, monitor, control and update the Program Plan, Milestone Schedule, and Action Item Register to support awarded business in compliance with customer expectations and internal program tracking systems.
  • Function as Team Leader responsible to coordinate and manage the core cross functional team's activities to ensure that ALL milestones are met.  This may include elevating program conflicts or issues to JSS management for resolution.
  • Support Product Engineering in the development and maintenance of the Component Design Specification.  Support the development of the performance characteristics of the product proposed for the assigned programs.  Be knowledgeable with all specifications pertaining to the product and participate in Product Design Reviews.
  • Insure JSS's assembly plant is capable of producing the product as designed.
  • Insure timely delivery of prototype parts.
  • Support DV and PV builds through team meetings to ensure that projects the product and process is production ready.  Ensure engineering is leading the review all test plans and obtaining customer approval.  Follow-up for timely completion and issue resolution, review of test results and submission to the customer for approval.
  • Interface and maintain a professional relationship with the customer to continuously improve JSS's competitive position.  Assist Account Manager to gather information regarding competitors, new customer expectations, requirements or technologies.
  • Develop and be accountable for the program budget.  Forecast and track capital and tooling expenditures.
  • Resolve supplier in-house engineering and manufacturing concerns.
  • Provide support for all pre-production builds and S.O.P. 
  • Lead Early Supplier Team meetings

  • Be a resource for others. Be available to speak with employees, contractors, suppliers and business partners about the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and the policies applicable to their daily work.
  • Be proactive. Look for opportunities to discuss ethics and address challenging situations.
  • Respond quickly and effectively. Make sure that any problems that require your attention are treated with respect by all parties involved.
  • Know the limits of your authority. Avoid any action that exceeds the limits of your authority. Discuss with your supervisor or the Compliance Officer if you are unsure of what is appropriate (or not).
  • Delegate responsibilities, but never delegate your authority to individuals who may engage in illegal behavior or unethical activities.
  • Read the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct of Joyson Safety Systems, understand the content and sign the Code of Conduct Certification form.
  • Act in an ethical, honest, and professional manner by acting on behalf of the company and conducting business with integrity, even when making difficult decisions.
  • Complete all the online and/or onsite training scheduled in your location related to ethics and compliance topics.
  • Become familiar with Joyson Safety Systems ' Ethics and Compliance Policies.
  • Report to your Supervisor, the Executive Committee, the Compliance Department, or any of the available resources any possible violation of the Laws, the Code of Conduct, or the Company's Policies.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data and information related to your job position and department.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related field required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Minimum7 years of automotive Program Management Experience.
