Job description

About FC Tulsa
FC Tulsa is Oklahoma's professional soccer club competing in the USL Championship. We are committed to growing the beautiful game in our community through excellence on the field and exceptional experiences in the stands.
Our culture is driven by five core values:
1. Passion for Tulsa - We proudly represent our city and its people.
2. Growth Mindset - We embrace challenges, seek improvement, and never stop learning.
3. Positive Attitude - We lead with optimism, resilience, and teamwork.
4. Customer First - We go the extra mile to create unforgettable experiences for our fans and partners.
5. Hustle - We work relentlessly and never settle for average.
If you're passionate about soccer, sales, and building something special, we want you on our team.
Position SummaryWe're seeking a driven, energetic, and highly motivated Business Development Manager to champion our growth in the Tulsa market. In this role, you will be the driving force behind generating new B2B revenue and cultivating deep, lasting relationships within the Tulsa business community. Your primary focus will be hunting for new business through the strategic sale of corporate partnerships and premium seating plans.
You'll play a critical role in expanding our footprint in Tulsa, helping local businesses leverage our unforgettable game-day experiences for their own client entertainment, networking, and employee retention needs. A proven ability to prospect, close new accounts, and continuously nurture and grow a business-focused client portfolio is essential to your success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Drive Revenue: Meet and/or exceed assigned revenue goals by developing and selling integrated, customized corporate sponsorship packages and ticket packages.
  • Full-Cycle Sales Management: Full ownership of the outbound sales cycle: from proactive prospecting and pitching, to closing net-new B2B sponsorship deals. This is a pure 'Hunter' role.
  • Platform Integration: Build, present, and negotiate comprehensive proposals across multiple platforms, including digital, social media, broadcast, in-stadium (ONEOK Field) signage, and experiential activations.
  • Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with local, regional, and national brands to highlight the unique value and reach of partnering with a professional USL Championship soccer club.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, community leaders, and internal stakeholders-serving as a trusted and respected ambassador for FC Tulsa.
  • The Close & Handoff: Finalize contracts and execute a seamless, documented handoff of the partner for ongoing fulfillment and execution.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity, client communications, and pipeline progress within the club's CRM system.
  • Proactive Lead Generation: Actively network at Chamber events, business associations, and community functions to build a robust top-of-funnel pipeline.
  • Matchday Sales Hustle: Utilize matchdays at ONEOK Field as a premium networking environment. Host prospective clients, conduct in-game pitches, and leverage the stadium experience to close new business.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed on sports marketing industry trends, best practices in brand activations, digital marketing tools, and emerging sponsorship platforms within the soccer landscape.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties and special projects as required by the commercial leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of successful sales experience, with a strong focus on B2B sales, prospecting, and building long-term client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding aggressive sales goals.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a steadfast, customer-first approach.
  • Comfort navigating CRM systems (e.g.,Hubspot) and thriving within a fast-paced, performance-driven sports sales environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for FC Tulsa match days and special events.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in sports sponsorship, media sales, or entertainment (e.g., stadium signage, social media campaigns, digital assets, broadcast).
  • Familiarity with crafting creative marketing solutions that blend digital, physical, and experiential assets.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A passion for soccer and a strong understanding of the Tulsa market and local business landscape.
