Summary
The Learning Management System (LMS) Programmer is responsible for the design, development, and management of training system syllabi, courses, and associated instructional materials within multiple electronic training management systems. Working collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the LMS Programmer develops and maintains course structures, updates graphics and media content, performs LMS helpdesk duties, and ensures users receive technical support and training. This role analyzes system performance, resolves user issues, conducts courseware installations, maintains database configurations, and coordinates with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely implementation of course syllabi across training programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and manage training system syllabi and course materials with input from SMEs, including graphical and media components.

  • Manage LMS Help Desk operations, providing technical support and resolving user issues.

  • Create, update, and maintain course syllabi for Formal Training Units (FTU) and Mobility (MOB) programs across multiple electronic training management systems.

  • Serve as a liaison between training system programs and training management system (TMS) vendors.

  • Conduct internal and external user training, including new-user immersion for TMS platforms.

  • Attend required meetings and provide updates, reports, and status information for TMS activities.

  • Analyze data collected in TMS and generate custom reports as required.

  • Coordinate with schedulers to implement course and class syllabi within applicable training management systems.

  • Interface with Base Registrar and FTU/MOB Registrar to ensure accuracy of course and student records.

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system, database, and user issues within LMS and TMS environments.

  • Perform courseware installations and update database configurations on workstations and servers.

  • Support continuous improvement of LMS workflows and processes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience; bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Three or more years of experience in a similar or related field.

  • Knowledge of electronic training management systems and familiarity with AETC/AMC flight operations preferred.

  • Administrative experience with GTIMS required.

  • Previous ATS or active duty flying experience strongly desired.

  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze complex technical or instructional documents.

  • Ability to respond professionally to sensitive inquiries and provide clear technical guidance.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to create effective presentations and proposals.

  • Experience supporting training environments or working with instructional system design teams.

  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting system issues and interpreting user requirements.

Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a professional office environment using standard computers, communication systems, and digital tools.

  • Domestic travel may be required to support training activities or program coordination.

  • Occasional exposure to training system environments, which may require detection of noises or operational cues related to device function.
