Job Opportunity: Underwriting Executive Administrator at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company

As the Underwriting Executive Administrator, you'll be an essential part of our team, contributing to the success of our organization.
Location: Jackson, MS
Role and Responsibilities: With minimal supervision required, the Underwriting Executive Administrator provides administrative support to the Vice President, Underwriting and New Business Administration and supports the Directors in the Underwriting, New Business, and Document Management departments.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Oversee the departmental employee engagement program for the departments reporting to the Vice President to drive employee engagement by coordinating lunches, social events, etc., and providing an end-of-year retrospective outlining engagement effort throughout the year.
  • Provide any needed administrative assistance to the Vice President daily, including scheduling meetings and maintaining the calendar, preparing expense reports, and scheduling and confirming travel and hotel reservations.
  • Assist agents and sales leadership in troubleshooting OFT (Oral Fluid) and Home Office Specimen ordering.
  • Assist agents, managers, business contacts, or home office personnel with questions and take messages.
  • Prepare and mail letters to clients regarding confidential medical information from the Medical Director.
  • Act as a point of contact for MIB information requests, and distribute the requests as needed.
  • In conjunction with the Medical Director, report confidential medical information (for example, positive HIV results) to state health department personnel. Each state has a different reporting system. Maintain paper files on all reports for backup.
  • Assign, update, and delete other company's replacement codes on the Ingenium system.
  • Schedule and keep the Vice President, Underwriting/New Business informed of all upcoming meetings.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining reports for Senior Management.
  • Screen all inter-office and outside mail daily. Screen electronic mail if Vice President is out of the office.
  • Record minutes at meetings.
  • Update Underwriting and New Business contacts for Agent's Website.
  • Type correspondence and create PowerPoint presentations for the Vice President, Underwriting/New Business. Proofread all correspondence. This correspondence may, and generally does, contain confidential information.
  • Work with Strategic Services to store and maintain vendor contracts associated with the Underwriting/New Business departments.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree and/or technical training in a professional field with at least three years' experience or five years secretarial/administrative experience in a professional field (or a 5-year combination of college and experience)
  • Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Good typing skills (40 wpm)
  • Knowledge of SFBLI systems, preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
